DK module, playtest 1

Setting
You are a sturdy dwarf, leader of dwarves and in search for a suitable place to lay the groundwork for a brand new mountainhome. Your name is Hekron, you are an experienced Engineer and Leader. Your company of dwarves includes 5 trained axe-dwarves as well as an experience mason (Morice), an experienced carpenter (Leon) and three experienced farmers (Lia, Ben and Groog). Being versatile, all non-specialists (experienced level) know each other's craft or profession at the trained level.
The  land that lays before you is mostly inhabited by human and goblinoids. You have located a number of tall and soft chalk cliffs overlooking the stormy sea. The climate is temperate, the season is early spring. The coastline is speckled with tiny hamlets of fishermen, either humans and goblins, living in apathic ignorance of each other.
The cliffs nearby are likely to contain caves of various sizes. Your men are turning to you for guidance: they are weary of travelling and dry rations are running low.

Initiative 1
Hmm. First off, I send three of our axedwarves out to get the lay of the land try and find a cave that we can use as shelter, temporary or otherwise. They succeed at this task, and find a shallow cave about 9m deep and 4m/5m wide to the west of our position.

Modifiers:
  1. There are cliffs that you mentioned may contain caves
  2. Dwarves live underground, and as such have a better understanding of rock and where caves may be located.
  3. These Dwarves are tired of travelling, and are fairly desperate to find shelter or a place to settle.
The cliffs have caves (+1) and dwarves are good at it (+1). However, being desperate doesn't help finding something.
Target: 12. Roll: 10. Success.

The dwarves have found a suitable cave about 10m deep by 5m wide.

Initiative 2
Lia, Ben, and Groog, along with one of our axedwarves go out and look for any food that may be nearby (berries, etc) and come back with a sizeable amount - about one meal's worth for everyone.

Modifiers:
  1. There is vegetation nearby, as it is a temperate climate.
  2. There are multiple dwarves working on the same task, increasing the yield and speed of the task.
  3. The remaining axedwarf will keep guard with the others.
Temperate climate in spring (+1), lots of dwarves (+1), 1 day supply is very small (+1).
Target: 13, Roll: 5. Success by 7.

The dwarves have found a large patch of berries and easy to catch wild games. There is enough food for about 4 months (2^7=128 days).

Initiative 3
Alright then. The three axedwarves return to the caravan, inform everyone of their success, and begin to move our supplies into the cavern after pulling the wagon there. The farmers load the berries and other food on to the wagon as well.

After the supplies have been moved, Leon and three other axedwarf go out to try and find a tree or two to fell. We have wood with us as we could not be sure that we would settle in a forested area, but it is not a very significant supply and will not last us long.

Modifiers:
  1. It is a temperate climate.
  2. There are several dwarves.
  3. We have the needed tools (axes).
Felling wood is a simple task done by untrained people (Target:10). This is likely to happen in a temperate climate (+1). Having the tools isn't an advantage as much as not having them would be a problem. The number of dwarves would matter only if the task was very time sensitive.

Target: 11, roll: 10. Success. The dwarves now have two large trunks near the cave's entrance.

Last, Morice will examine the cave after the supplies are moved to find out how easy it would be dig and what mineral it is primarily (unless it's chalk).

Morice is a mason, but is otherwise untrained in mining. The task of prospecting for ANY material is technical (target: 8). However, Morice is an experience mason and knows a bit about minerals (+1), chalk is easy to dig and thus explore (+1).

In the outcome, can you specify what Morice finds? I'll hold on rolling until I know what is the outcome of this action.
